VINEYARD AND WINEMAKING NOTES
The 2014 season started with a cool frosty spring but quickly progressed into a classic Hawke’s Bay summer. Hot and dry conditions from December through to end of harvest in April ensured ripe, flavoursome fruit in excellent condition.
Exceptional quality, low yielding Gewürztraminer grapes from our estate vineyard was hand harvested and pressed immediately. Inoculation with a selection of various yeasts including partial oak wild yeast fermentation.
RESIDUAL SUGAR 4 g/l
Eye: Light gold
Nose: Lychee, rose petal and cinnamon
Taste: Soft textured with lychee, mango, spice and Turkish delight flavours. A dry style with great balance and length.
FOOD MATCH, CELLARING AND SERVICE
Enjoy with Asian style cuisine (eg. Chicken Thai Curry…) and seafood.
Enjoy now or cellar 4 – 6 years to develop more spice and body.
